The aim of the project is to deepen cooperation between cultural and tourism organisations working in the border region for similar purposes and the residents of the border region, and to establish a cross-border partnership through the implementation of a joint festival series. 
The two border villages, Füzér and Krásnohorské Podhradie, have a rich historical and natural heritage, with castles being a major attraction for both villages, which will be a central element of the project events. The events evoking the medieval athmosphere - the Füzér Castle Day and the Krásnohorské Podhradie Castle Games - will offer a variety of programmes for all ages. In addition to the historical spectacle, there will be a strong emphasis on introducing the region's gastronomy in frame of the Krásnohorské Podhradie Castle Games and the Pálinka Festival in Füzér.
The three events with cross-border impact will provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation between nations and regions, as well as between the population. After many decades of isolation, the increased permeability of the borders will help to promote the culture and values of the neighbouring countries, which will be further enhanced by the free events organised by the project.
The project is also expected to increase tourism between the two countries, as the events will attract not only the local population but also visitors from further afield.
