12.10.2021

The development of cross-border natural heritage project has come to life thanks to Magyarnándor (HU) and Ipolynyék (SK) municipality. The project is the continuation of an already realized project in which they created a study-trail between two natural regions, to connect the Cserhát Mountains and the Korpona Plateau.
Beyond the projects overall objective to increase the attractiveness of the border area and to increase its social, economic and territorial cohesion, it is also aiming to improve cross-border cooperation between public institutions and people living in the border area. With the cooperation of the municipalities, within a joint project they would like to further develop the environment of the educational trails making them more attractive for all ages by creating events and other recreational opportunities.
One of the long-term goals is for the project to strengthen the economic, but mainly the tourist significance in the area. The development of attractions will increase the regions appeal which will bring more tourist to visit the region. Environmental awareness is an important aspect of the developments, as an increasing proportion of tourists expect sustainability and the preservation of environmental values.
