Bábkové divadlo v Košiciach

28.10.2021

The aim of the project is to improve the cross-border flow of informations about the border regions of Hungary and Slovakia through the presentation of the common cultural heritage in an innovative form focused primarily on children.
Both target regions have considerable potential for tourism development. Due to historical events, the level of awareness of the population about the neighboring region remains low, despite almost a thousand years of common history, when both regions were part of the monarchy. The level of local patriotism is low in both regions, especially among children and the young generation.
We want to strenghten cooperation to the neighboring Borsod-Abauj-Zemplin County with this project. Košice self-governing County is formed by four regions (Spis, Saris, Abov, Zemplin). It is Abov and Zemplin that connects the Hungarian-Slovak border area. 10 puppet television fairy tales (evenings), based on regional folk tales and fairy tales from the affected regions will be the main outputs of the project. The collaboration of performers, actors and implementation team in the Hungarian-Slovak co-production offers space to promote both sites and at the same time bring closer to the young generation the traditional cultural element (puppetry), which is inscribed in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - UNESCO.
