Alsózsolca and Pelsőc have been maintaining well-functioning twinning relations for many years, especially in the field of cultural life, which they seek to further deepen, increase the capacity of partner institutions, increase the level of cooperation and actively involve border residents through this project, implementing a series of 4 cultural programs, with the theme “Revival” in 2021.
In Alsózsolca a community day and a traditional event preserving traditions, while in Pelsőc a gastro and a cultural summer festival takes place. Although the main profile of the events is different, the common theme everywhere is renewal and rebirth.
These events aim to preserve the traditional values ​​of the area around the Sajó River and to celebrate them with dignity on both sides of the border. The programs are extremely colorful and provide quality culture and entertainment for all ages. The performances of local and foreign folklore ensembles and choirs are also enriched by various accompanying programs, such as handicraft workshops for children, handicraft demonstrations, the handicraft market of local and foreign exhibitors, and the presentation of typical dishes typical of the regions. The partners will also purchase equipment to ensure the high-quality implementation of the series of events and to provide the appropriate technical background.
The project will also organize a joint traveling exhibition of pictures from the programs and a promotional short film about the series of cultural events, which will promote the region's traditions and values ​​to be preserved and renewed for the younger generation among both the local population and the general public. Cross-border cultural cooperation has a long-term positive impact on the region.
