The Integrated Library and Museum Collection is one of the most significant cultural institutes in Heves County, Northeastern Hungary, not unlike the Regional Cultural Centre in Kráľovský Chlmec, which is one of the most prominent integrated institutes in Košice Region, southeast of Slovakia. This common starting point gave way to the cooperation between the two institutes. The integration created an efficient system in both institutions, which can serve as an example for other ones that are to be integrated, or where integration proved less successful. Both of the institutions made the development of their areas’ culture, the integration of marginalised groups through cultural socialization, and spreading knowledge about the local and regional heritage part of their action plan. The similarities between the two institutions’ functions, mission statement and principles almost predestined them partaking in a common project and the extension of their goals across borders. The target audience of the activities in the cooperation planned are the culturally and socially open communities, the underprivileged social strata or the ones from different cultures, who have a harder time accessing the above-mentioned social and cultural goods. Based on that, the two institutions are taking up the organization of cultural professional days, where other than reviewing the issues listed, new, long-term plans are going to be developed to build cultural connections which can present the heritage of the regions to each other, and to develop a documentation system that can process the jointly created social and cultural goods. The planned cultural events give an opportunity to present the cultural artifacts of the regions concerned.
