A specific aim of the project is to improve the level of cross-border institutional cooperation, to broaden the cross-border cooperation among the citizens and to increase the attractiveness of the two municipalities taking part in the project: that of Dolinka (SK) and Diósjenő (HU). We will enhance tourism in the two microregions in the spirit of gastronomy and folk art thereby increasing the number of tourists who visit the regions. For the sake of attractiveness we will further develop the traditional Dolinka Honey Festival with the emphasis on gastronomy and its promotion. We would like to build the image of the village on honey and on unique, handicraft products. Some years ago, a Walnut Festival was organized three times in Diósjenő, but no such festival was organized in recent years. We would like to revive this tradition. The love of gastronomy and the traditions are there; we are now connecting them by connecting the councils of Dolinka and Diósjenő. Both settlements are located in an economically underdeveloped region, even so, we are creating a strong culinary image for the two smaller municipalities in the long term. In the short term, we are expanding the Dolinka Honey Festival's programs and reviving the Diósjenő Walnut Festival. We are getting the locals involved in the production of the local typical dishes, activating young people. Thanks to the proximity of the Börzsöny range, Diósjenő already has experience in tourism and hospitality, but Dolinka currently lacks such experience. Thus, the project also aims at the exchange of experience between the two councils, which means a brand new partnership.
