The non-profit organizations DIG and Art Colony Cered, both working in the field of art, start their partnership with this non-traditional project. The DIG is based in Košice, the metropolis of the East Slovakia and its activities are focused on digital and multimedia art. Art Colony Cered organizes artists' symposia in the distinctive environment of Cered in the northern Hungarian border. The art work materializes the artist's view on the chosen topic. Through an appropriately selected (artistic and interdisciplinary) theme and inspiration, the art works of that respond to current societal challenges will arise on the basis of contrast - global (urban environment / Košice) vs. traditional (rural environment / Cered). The selected artists, 6 Slovak and 6 Hungarian, will have the opportunity to express themselves in an original and authorial way by creating works reflecting the various topics in the field of eco media art. When designing and elaborating the works, the artist will rely on close cooperation with the selected partner. Artists and scientists from the various fields from different institutions will become artists' partners. The partnership will give artists an insight into the work of professionals from other areas, gaining new impulses that is not common in artistic practice. In order to present their projects and joining dialogue, the artists will take part in an international symposium in Cered, where the presented art works will be finalized. The symposium will culminate in the presentation of works at the Open Door Day in the form of an exhibition. Subsequently, the works will be relocated and exhibited within the space of the DIG gallery in Košice. The exhibition will be a part of Košice's White Night 2020.
