The region of which 2 municipalities have been involved in the preparation and implementation of the project is at the eastern border of Slovakia and Hungary and in the neighborhood of the Ukrainian border.
The municipality of Záhony City and the Municipality of Kistárkány as project partners have a common goal to establish long-term and close cooperation between the border in order to enhance the cultural and ecotouristic attractiveness of the area, thus enhancing tourism and protecting the river Tisza and its surroundings as our common natural treasure. The long-term objective of the project is to ensure the interoperability of the border area, to this end, long-term strategic cooperation is established between the settlements of the region in order to maintain the stated goals and results.
Within the framework of the project, the preparation of a pedestrian Tisza bridge will be realized in form of a feasibility study. Prior to the preparation of it, workshops will be carried out, which will contribute to the achievement of the stated goals by involving the relevant local governments, authorities and other civil society organizations and target groups.
Promoting the results of the project is also supported by a broad dissemination and marketing activity.
