The aim of the MAKSIM project is to raise the low level of environmental awareness and engagement of children and young people in order to prepare them for the future challenges and impacts of a rapidly changing natural environment. Climate change will have a major impact on the quality and way of life, and the project aims to prepare children and young people to take responsibility for their chosen way of life. The project aims to contribute to this change through innovative environmental education and training . Thanks to the previous project,  it will be possible to involve older children and young people in the activities. The project partners want to develop an educational, training and information facility in the forest park of Košice, which will fit into the concept of environmental education and use the experience and advice of more experienced Hungarian partners. At the same time, the project will create a concept of permanent cross-border cooperation involving schools, civic associations and forestry organizations. The facility will operate during the school year as a forest school focused on innovative environmental forest education and during summer underwear as a center of leisure activities in the field of environmental education, traditional crafts and sports. The facility will be connected to the surrounding natural areas by nature trails and cycle paths and will benefit from jointly developed new programs and educational tools.
On the Slovak side, the decayed suburban forest hut will become a cross-border environmental education facility offering year-round activities of youth and older children of both countries of school education and training courses and leisure activities as well as environmental and tradition-developing summer camps.
