In the summer of 2020, 2 joint jubilee cultural and gastronomic festival of common folk traditions and cultural heritage called "2020-FESTIVAL in Gávavencsellő and Bodrogszerdahely" will be organized in the twin settlements, which will help to further deepen the existing and well-functioning links between the two locations, both for municipalities and residents. These events have a significant role to play in strengthening the identity of the local population, improving the quality of life and developing the community. Although the settlements are located in less-favored areas, they nevertheless seek to take advantage of all opportunities and organize international events for cross-border residents and visitors to the region. Each year, the partners organize several events and festivals, which are not only visited by the county border, but also outside the country borders, eg. from Poland, Ukraine and Romania. This relationship system helps collaborative partners to showcase and present their traditions and values. The "2020-FESTIVAL in Bodrogszerdahely" will be held in late July, whereas the "2020-FESTIVAL in Gavavencsellő" will take place in mid-August. Visitors are welcomed by a familiar atmosphere, welcoming hospitality, colorful cultural and musical programs and regional cuisine. The attendance of festivals is increasing year by year. However, in order to be able to invite even more high-quality performers and thus reach out to more visitors - thanks to the project -, the two partners will procure stage and sound equipment, and in connection with the festivals, the partners will publish a joint cultural publication on the rich values of the two settlements and their surroundings.
